As one of the UK’s top Regulatory, Inquest, Health & Safety and Tribunal Barristers and QC’s, Michael has achieved great success in all these areas, as the cases below illustrate.
If you are facing disciplinary action or need representation at any tribunal, and would like to discuss your case with one of the UK’s leading Regulatory, Inquest, Health & Safety, and Tribunal Barristers and QC’s
Professional Misconduct Tribunals
Michael acted for a suspended physiotherapist AB, the Authority had opposed his return to practice, arguing he had been acting in “flagrant breach” of their Order. Michael persuaded the Panel that the evidence against him was unreliable and he was allowed to continue his practice.
In another physiotherapy professional tribunal case, physiotherapist X was accused of a rather innovative method of treating the back-ache of his female patient, he was cleared of exposing and intimately touching her.
Corporate Gross Negligence Manslaughter Defence
Michael acted for the owner of a building firm whose employees carried out roof repairs without proper instruction or equipment. He was cleared of gross negligence manslaughter.
Mark Blanco Death – Coroner ruling
The actor Mark Blanco died in 2006, he appeared to suffer the dangerous effects of standing too close to the “artist” Pete Doherty. Michael has acted for Mark’s family ever since and with the gathering of fresh expert evidence and the exposure of the police investigation, the long slow search for Justice continues.
At the inquest where the police sought a verdict of suicide or accident, Michael cross-examined Doherty’s associates to such effect that the Coroner halted the proceedings to record an ‘Open Verdict’ and ordered a new independent police enquiry. There is no longer any reasonable doubt that Mark was unlawfully killed.
